For gyms
Vibration damping of treadmills
Treadmills can effectively be attenuated by placing them all on one common construction with damping material underneath. The construction can be made of wood or concrete, but a higher vibration damping is achieved the heavier the construction.
Vibration damping of gym machines
Approx. price per machine is DKK 400-500,00, excluding VAT.
Gym weight machines can make a lot of noise in buildings when the weights are released and hit the rest of the weight stack and when the handles used in the machine hit the return point.
Gym machines can effectively be dampened by dimensioning VIKAFOAM blocks for the individual machines in the gym. We look at the kilos of the weight stack and the number of supports the machine has. The size of the VIKAFOAM can then be customized to the individual machines.
Vibration damping of free weights
Free weights make noise when dropped on the floor from hip/knee height. There are lots of options to effectively dampen these vibrations.
Building a Floating floor across the training area with free weights will effectively disconnect the vibrations from the building. Hereby there is no need to make local zones for allowing weight-dropping.
Alternatively, Drop Zones can be established where weights can land softly. This will fixate benches and those who train must be careful where they drop the weights. This solution is significantly cheaper and easy to install.

Vibration damping of washing machines
Price for 4 pcs. of VIKAFOAM37170 for DKK 198,00 VAT included. Avoid shipping charges upon collecting at our address.
Our solution is only recommended for newer buildings with concrete decks. Place the 4 pieces of VIKAFOAM on the floor with a heavy 200 kg steel plate on top. The washing machine is placed on top of this construction, and this provides effective damping.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend anything in apartments with wooden construction between the floors.
Vibration damping of Home Trainer (cycling trainer)
Price for 2 pcs. VIKAFOAM37170 pieces, on collection at the address, DKK 99.00 including VAT.
For vibration damping of the Home Trainer (cycling trainer), you can start with a Home Trainer mat or some carpet. If this is not enough, experiments have been made with 2 pieces of VIKAFOAM 170, 37mm high, on top of which is placed a plywood board at least 21mm thick and with dimensions so that only the Home Trainer stands on top of it.
Make sure that the dimensions of the plate are large enough so that the Home Trainer does not slide down from it. The pieces are placed outside under the side supports so that there is balance in the system. This arrangement has the greatest effect on concrete decks, and less on wooden structures.
Please note that this arrangement provides a somewhat more flexible arrangement of the bicycle.
Vibration damping of treadmills
Price depends on the type of treadmill.
Vibration damping of treadmills is not so easy, as there is already a lot of flexibility in the running area, and when soft dampers are added underneath, people may think that the setup will be too soft and unstable.
The best we can recommend are pieces of VIKAFOAM material approx. 25mm high, placed under each leg. Type and size of VIKAFOAM piece is dimensioned according to type of treadmill. This arrangement has the greatest effect on concrete decks, and less on wooden structures.
Vibration damping of record player

We recommend that the record player be suspended/mounted on a load-bearing wall. For further passive isolation of the record player, some small rubber buffers can be used, e.g. type GB03036.
Vibration dampening of speakers
It is always a good idea to use vibration dampers when setting up speakers, whether they are large floor speakers or wall/ceiling mounted satellite speakers. We have different vibration dampers which we recommend, such as cylindrical dampers or turret mounts for floor speakers, CH1 or CH2 for ceiling-mounted speakers and vibration damper type VTOE and VTN for wall-mounted speakers. If the speakers are placed on some kind of a shelf, you can use spring mounts type FDHL and FDHH under the speakers.
